Planning Board Postpones Review of Open Space & Recreation Plan; CPC Representative to be Replaced

The Malden Planning Board voted Feb. 11 to postpone its review of the Open Space & Recreation Plan for one month so members have additional time to review the 240-page draft.
Planning staff said the Metropolitan Area Planning Council is still incorporating city edits, and the steering committee continues to meet. Several board members reported access problems to the draft link; staff said she would resend the link and provide a PDF and printed copies if needed. "Tomorrow I'll send the link again and I'll send the PDF," staff said.
Eric Henry moved to postpone the board's review for one month; Ken Antonucci seconded. The motion carried with the board voting in favor.
Separately, Ronnie Rasberry told the board he has requested to step down as the Planning Board's representative to the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) due to increased work demands and missed meetings. The chair asked members to consider volunteering; Rasberry agreed to stay on until a replacement is found.
The board also received a brief update on the master comprehensive plan selection process: staff said an RFP has gone out and a consultant selection should be complete by the next meeting. The Planning Board's next regular meeting was set for March 11, 2026.
