The Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education on July 14 approved an REMC bid to modernize failing public-address systems and convert them to a phased building response system, and approved a string of routine fiscal and administrative actions.
John Londono, the district’s Director of Technology, presented the REMC bid for an Audio Enhancement Project that the board approved 5-0 on a motion by Member Ross Daniels with support from Member Linda Baker. The presentation noted the work would be completed in manageable phases over the district’s Series 3 bond cycle.
The board also approved a resolution to close the Three Rivers Recreation Commission depository account at Horizon Bank and transfer the remaining $17,708.71 to the district’s General Fund (motion by Member Julia Awe, supported by Member Ross Daniels), and designated banks for investments, appointed the Director of Finance & Business as the Electronic Transfer Officer, retained Thrun Law Firm, P.C. for personnel and contractual matters, and appointed Gabridge & Company as the district’s auditors for the 2024–25 annual audit. All votes on those items were recorded as unanimous, 5-0.
The consent agenda — adopted 5-0 — included approval of prior minutes, a payroll change register, an accounts payable check register totaling $1,475,246.43, a bond invoice payment report totaling $569,793.15, and a staff non-FMLA leave request. President Erin Nowak reviewed the board calendar, and the meeting adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
