The chair read an email from Chief of Police David Georgie stating he had Mr. Tanaka's CORI report and "has no issues with the issuance of this renewal." Councilor Vital moved to accept the application; the committee voted 3–0 in favor. The chair said the renewal will be reported out to the full council for final action.
Next, members considered a communication from City Solicitor Jason D. Grossfield and a proposed order of acceptance for Jewel Road and associated easements (order 26‑1009620A). The solicitor's letter, dated Jan. 21, 2026, said the order was "in proper legal form" and that the city engineer had reviewed the submissions. With no further discussion, Councilor Vital made the motion to accept the partial parcel and its easements; the committee approved the motion 3–0.
The final item was a proposed acceptance of a 2.16‑acre open‑space parcel associated with the Boseman Estates special permit. The chair read a solicitor's letter that cited Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 40, section 8C as the authority for placing the parcel under the Conservation Commission's management. Conservation Officer Priscilla Ryder told the committee that adjacent parcels include vernal pools and spring habitat for frogs and other wildlife; committee members said protecting that habitat was a priority. Councilor Vital moved to accept the deed and easements; the motion carried 3–0.
All three committee approvals will be reported to the full Marlborough City Council for final action. The Public Services Committee adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
