Broken Bow council approves consent agenda, appoints representative and clears July street closure

The Broken Bow City Council approved routine business and several motions at its May 11 meeting at the Broken Bow Municipal Auditorium.
Council members approved the absence of Councilman Chris Myers (motion by Jacob Holcomb, second by Dave Schmidt), then approved the consent agenda, which included the April 27 minutes and Bills to Date totaling $86,277.79. The consent motion was moved by Larry Miller and seconded by Dave Schmidt; the roll call vote was unanimous among members present.
Fire Chief Jason Baum reported the new fire truck has been used and performed well, saving man-hours; he said eight firefighters have been trained to operate it and additional personnel are being trained. Councilman Dave Schmidt read an appreciation letter to the fire department.
The council approved the appointment of David Schmidt as the representative to Custer County Communications (motion by Larry Miller, second by Jacob Holcomb). In that vote Miller and Holcomb voted aye while Schmidt abstained; the motion carried.
Council members also approved the Car and Bike Show with a street closure of D Street on July 24, 2021 (motion by Miller, second by Holcomb; roll call votes in favor by Schmidt, Miller and Holcomb). The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m. after a motion to adjourn by Dave Schmidt, seconded by Jacob Holcomb.
