Selectboard member Brendan Denehy made the motion; the board voted 4-0 to accept and allocate the funds.
Why it matters: the approved allocation reduces the town’s near-term draw on the unassigned fund balance to meet the Tamposi payment deadline and partially covers Brookline’s share of a separate multi-town tax-settlement expense.
There was no public comment at the hearing. The action came after the Selectboard reported having attended mediation with Primex; the minutes state Primex agreed to the $305,000 payment. The board did not record additional conditions attached to the payment in the public minutes.
Next steps: the minutes show the town will apply the funds as approved and use the remaining unassigned fund balance as needed to satisfy the Tamposi settlement obligation due Aug. 19. The Selectboard did not schedule further public deliberation on this item in the published minutes.
