Rachel Norman told attendees that the Praxis Teaching of Reading (exam 7002) will have a higher cut score beginning Jan. 1: the passing score will rise from 138 to 147. She emphasized that candidates who took and passed the subtest during the adoption period when the cut score was 138 will not be required to retest to meet the new threshold.
The department gave this reminder in the middle of a broader certification update to help preparation providers and candidates prepare for the forthcoming standard change; no transitional funding or additional accommodations were announced.
