Zoning Enforcement Officer Jay Gigliotti and Recording Clerk Kathleen Scott were also present.
According to meeting materials presented to the commission, the proposed revision responds to objections raised by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) about rules that treated forestry operations differently than other industrial activities. The language under consideration would standardize bonding requirements for commercial and industrial operations, with the stated intent of preserving the road edge during and after logging work.
The commission opened the hearing for public comment; no members of the public spoke in favor of or in opposition to the proposed revision. Commissioner Randy Godaire moved to close the public hearing at 7:15 p.m.; Alternate Bob Dubos seconded the motion. The commission voted "all in favor," and the motion carried.
