Clarksville council approves several permits; member opposes removing sidewalk at Landrum property

Council approved two permits for Mark Waugh — one to add curb and gutter on the south side of his house and a second to replace a sidewalk at his residence (motions Doty/Reints and Reints/Doty; ayes: Doty, Saulsbury, Reints). The council also approved a permit for Rhonda Landrum to add a parking pad, remove a sidewalk, and add a retaining wall; after discussion, the council directed that the sidewalk remain in place and approved the permit (motion Reints/Saulsbury; ayes: Doty, Saulsbury, Reints). Councilmember Jessi Reints said she was not in favor of removing the sidewalk “at this time,” while Councilmember Ruth Saulsbury described the situation as “complicated” given the sidewalk’s condition.
A permit for Susan Kroeze to add a black wire fence for a dog run was approved pending a required signature (motion Reints/Doty; ayes: Doty, Saulsbury, Reints). Mayor Jerald Heuer and maintenance staff also provided an update on Troy Fraser’s permit and reported storm damage that occurred earlier in the day.
The council recorded each permit approval with unanimous votes from members present; absent members were Kielman and Sherburne. The meeting transcript does not record any fee amounts or further inspections associated with these permits.
