Good Hope council approves beer and wine license for Good Hope Marathon, clears routine business

The Good Hope City Council on Nov. 24, 2025, met at Good Hope City Hall and approved routine business and a licensing recommendation. Mayor Jerry Bartlett called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., and Greg Brown gave the invocation.
Riley from the Chamber of Commerce announced that a New Council Members luncheon is scheduled for Dec. 9 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., and said the Cullman Summit is set for Jan. 13 with details to follow. Members of Good Hope Primary, Elementary and High School staff and some junior varsity cheerleaders were present to accept grant checks presented by the council; the minutes do not specify grant amounts or funding sources.
Council Member Taft Dillashaw moved to approve the Nov. 13, 2025, meeting minutes; Council Member Greg Brown seconded. The roll call returned unanimous yea votes and the motion passed. Dillashaw again made the motion to approve the October financial report, which Mayor Bartlett seconded; the council voted unanimously in favor.
On an Architectural Review Committee recommendation, Council Member Greg Brown moved to approve a Beer/Wine Off-Premise License for Good Hope Marathon; Taft Dillashaw seconded. The council recorded unanimous yea votes and approved the license.
Greg Brown moved to adjourn the meeting; Taft Dillashaw seconded, and the council adjourned at 7:15 p.m. All recorded motions carried on unanimous roll-call votes by the council.
