Councilor Kerry Clark reported that a Page County Landfill meeting had decided the city would be charged $100 for each recyclable container picked up and delivered to the landfill starting July 1, 2026. Manager McClarnon said the current yard‑waste fee is $1 per month and suggested raising it to $2 or $2.50 per month to cover the additional cost. He also noted he has returned to full‑time work.
No ordinance was adopted at the meeting; Manager McClarnon asked whether the council wanted him to proceed with drafting the ordinance. The council did not take immediate action during the April 22 meeting. If the council directs staff to proceed, the city will publish and schedule the required public hearing(s) for any fee change.
