Good Hope council adopts audited financials, approves $5,577 change order for community center

The City of Good Hope City Council on Jan. 12 unanimously approved the city's audited financial statement for the year ending Sept. 30, 2025, and authorized a $5,577 change order for the multi-use storm shelter/community center to cover CEC's relocation of a line, to be paid from the general fund.
Mayor Jerry Bartlett called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall. Christie Chamblee delivered the invocation and the council noted the absence of Council Members Billy Brown and Greg Brown. Mayor Bartlett presented a proclamation for Human Trafficking Awareness to Lydia of the Alliance for Awareness.
Council Member Taft Dillashaw moved to approve the Dec. 22, 2025 minutes; Susan Eller seconded and the council recorded unanimous roll-call 'yea' votes and approved the minutes. Dillashaw then moved to approve the November Comparative Financial Statement; Eller seconded and that motion also passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
On the audited financial statement, Dillashaw moved to approve the Audited Financial Statement for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025; Eric Phillips seconded, and the council voted unanimous 'yea' to adopt the statement.
During general business, Council Member Eric Phillips moved to surplus three Gravely lawn mowers, directing that two be sold on GovDeals and one be donated to Good Hope High School. Taft Dillashaw seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Council Member Susan Eller moved to approve Change Order No. 3 for the multi-use storm shelter/community center in the amount of $5,577 for 'CEC relocation of line', with payment to come from the General Fund. Taft Dillashaw seconded; the council approved the change order by unanimous roll-call vote.
Taft Dillashaw moved to adjourn the meeting; Susan Eller seconded and the council adjourned at 7:06 p.m. The minutes include a standard attestation block for the Mayor and City Clerk.
