The Hamblen County Beer Board, meeting in conjunction with the county commission, approved an off-premises beer permit ownership change for Simpson Market at 8015 East Andrew Johnson Highway in Whitesburg.
Applicant Mik Patel told the board the ownership group is the same but the business had been reorganized under a new organization. "It's just the ownership change," Patel said during the review of the application. After a brief question-and-answer period, the board approved the permit and the legislative body reconvened.
The permit was considered during a routine licensing docket and passed by motion and vote.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the permit during the meeting.
