The Cochran City Council on July 8 unanimously approved annexation of 126 Moll Drive (Parcel B37A111) and immediately assigned the property an R‑1 zoning designation following a Planning Commission recommendation.
Mayor Billy Yeomans summarized that the property owner petitioned to annex the contiguous 0.92‑acre lot in order to connect to city sewer service. No members of the public provided comment during the annexation hearing. Council Member Carla Coley confirmed with staff that the property would connect to city water and sewer if annexed.
Council Member Gary Ates moved to approve annexation; Council Member Carla Coley seconded. The motion passed by unanimous vote. The subsequent public hearing and vote to designate the parcel R‑1 (low density residential) followed the Planning Commission's recommendation and also passed unanimously.
Next steps: City staff will process the necessary utility connections and permitting consistent with the annexation and R‑1 zoning designation.
