Planning and Zoning Commission tables Wedeking Second Addition preliminary plat, directs sanitary sewer application

The Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 23, 2025, tabled consideration of the Wedeking Second Addition Subdivision preliminary plat and instructed the property owners to complete a Sanitary Sewer District application and address utility-connection requirements, city officials said.

The commission reviewed City Engineer feedback that raised issues about right-of-way and connections for storm sewer, water and sanitary sewer. Chair Tungland and staff noted the subdivision must meet existing subdivision ordinance requirements before formal approval can proceed.

Commissioner Rosenberg moved to table any action on the preliminary plat until the application and utility connections are complete; Commissioner Becker seconded the motion, which carried unanimously (AYES: All). The commission’s direction was procedural: owners must finish the application with the Sanitary Sewer District and return with a completed submission that addresses the engineer’s comments.

Earlier on the agenda, the commission approved the meeting agenda (motion by Commissioner Rosenberg; second by Commissioner Rock) and approved the Aug. 5, 2025 minutes (motion by Commissioner Rock; second by Commissioner Becker), both carried unanimously. Consideration of a preliminary plat for J/M Enterprises was postponed because the plat was not ready for final consideration.
