The Sterling Economic Development Commission on April 14 voted unanimously to ask staff to draft a request for proposals to replace curbing along Industrial Park Road in the town's Industrial Park to address ongoing drainage issues.
Chair Steve Hebner said he would have Susanne Tetreault draft the RFP after commissioners reviewed the condition of curbing and the status of related grant funding. Scott Blinkhorn moved for the RFP to be drafted; Steven Joslyn seconded and the motion carried with all in favor.
The commission noted it is still waiting to hear back on a grant submitted Dec. 4, 2025 that is tied to the Phase II surveyor/RFP work. Commissioners said the curb replacement is a necessary step to correct drainage concerns in the Industrial Park; no dollar amounts or timelines were provided at the meeting.
Other unfinished items were tabled to future meetings, including the Phase II Surveyor RFP, the brochure/business directory, the Westmark loading dock item and the Revere Site brownfield discussion. Chair Hebner said he would ask Tetreault to circulate the commission's financials to members for review.
The commission adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
