Regional School District 08 adopts CCSU Early Childhood textbook; board approves schedule change and routine motions

The board also approved routine business items. The consent agenda — which included minutes from June 9, June 25 and an August 6 special meeting — was moved, seconded and approved without discussion. Administrators asked the board to move the January 2026 regular meeting from Jan. 12 to Jan. 26 to allow more time to assemble and present the budget; that motion was likewise moved, seconded and approved.
Financial motions at the meeting included approval of year-end transfers and short-term investment actions. Administration presented transfers totaling $519,870.84; the board approved the transfers by voice vote.
Why it matters: adopting the CCSU-required text aligns the district’s high school offering with the university's course materials for students taking the Early Childhood Education class, and the schedule change provides additional time for budget preparation ahead of the January meeting.
