The Otis Revitalization Business, Culture & Recreation Subcommittee met Nov. 4 by Zoom and agreed on a three-pronged approach to engage local businesses, including mailed letters, in-person visits and organizing "Notice Otis" days to raise awareness and gather interest.
The committee, chaired by Glenn, reviewed a list of potential businesses compiled by Stacey and decided to maintain a shared Google Sheet to centralize contact information. Members said they will categorize businesses by type — artisanal food, outdoor recreation, health and wellness, and banking — to prioritize outreach and tailor messaging.
The subcommittee assigned Stacey to create the shared Google Sheet and to email Ben Lamb at One Berkshire to request assistance with organizing "Notice Otis" events. All committee members were tasked with researching contact information for businesses on the list and entering it into the sheet. The group tabled approval of the Oct. 28 minutes because a quorum was not present.
The committee framed the outreach as a way to support business reopening and local economic activity; members emphasized organizing contacts and a clear, shared workflow before broad outreach begins. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 24 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom.
