Votes at a glance: Hoosac Valley committee approves minutes, trip, budget reclassification and substitute rates

At its Sept. 23 meeting the Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee approved the August 26 minutes; a FY24 budget reclassification; a March 4–8, 2025 Nature’s Classroom trip (with financial assistance assurances); and FY25 substitute pay rates. All motions carried; several were unanimous.
The Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee recorded several formal actions at its Sept. 23 meeting.
Approval of minutes: On a motion by Mike Henault with a second from John Duval, the committee approved the Aug. 26, 2024 minutes by a 5-0-1 vote.
Nature’s Classroom trip: Principal Lisa Lesser presented a proposed Nature’s Classroom trip to Charlton, Mass., for March 4–8, 2025 and stated that "no student will be left out due to financial restraints;" the committee approved the trip on a motion by Mike Henault, seconded by Erin Milne (vote recorded as unanimous).
FY24 budget reclassification: The business manager requested reclassification of FY24 budget lines to align with actual expenditures; the committee approved the transfer of funds on a motion by Mike Henault, seconded by Robert Tetlow (vote recorded as unanimous).
FY25 substitute rates: Superintendent Aaron Dean presented proposed FY25 substitute pay rates intended to align with neighboring districts; on motion of Mike Henault with a second by Andy Przystanski the committee voted 6-0-1 to adopt the new rates.
Adjournment: The committee voted unanimously to adjourn at 8:40 p.m.
