School Committee approves minutes and PTO fundraising, introduces student representatives, and adjourns to executive session

The Committee approved the Aug. 26 minutes (5-0), approved Dartmouth High School PTO fundraising requests (5-0), introduced rotating student representatives, and voted to adjourn into executive session for pending legal matters (5-0).
At the Sept. 9 meeting the Dartmouth School Committee handled routine business and formal votes before adjourning into executive session.
John Nunes moved and Elizabeth Coughlin seconded a motion to approve the Regular Session Minutes of Aug. 26, 2024; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. Later in the meeting Mr. Nunes moved and Kathleen Amaral seconded approval of the Dartmouth High School PTO's 2024' 2025 fundraising requests; that motion also passed unanimously, 5-0.
Superintendent Dr. Saba-Maguire introduced student representatives via Principal Ryan Shea. The Committee was told four students were elected to share the student representative role so one would be available at each meeting: Audrey Kertscher (not present), Jordan Rosenberg (secretary), Elizabeth O'Neill (vice president) and Haley Zexter; Rosenberg, O'Neill and Zexter each spoke briefly about their reasons for serving.
At 7:10 p.m. John Nunes moved and Mary Beckwith seconded a motion to adjourn into Executive Session for an update on pending legal matters and not to return to open session. On roll call the motion passed unanimously, 5-0 (Oliver ' Yes; Coughlin ' Yes; Beckwith ' Yes; Amaral ' Yes; Nunes ' Yes).
