DeMello fifth-graders present "Green Keys" invention after placing first at Bridgewater State competition

DeMello School students Juniper, Jamison, Anthony and Mackenzie presented their "Re-Inventors" project, "Green Keys: Grow and Game," to the Dartmouth School Committee on July 22 after competing at the Bridgewater State University Invention Convention earlier this year.
Liz Voci, instructional technology instructor at DeMello and Cushman Schools, said the DeMello fifth graders were the youngest participants at the convention and that the team took first place in their category. The students described the process of developing their idea and how they executed the invention for competition.
The committee commended the students, their teacher and the school for the project and for representing the district at a regional event. The presentation was introduced by Superintendent June Saba-Maguire, who noted she had seen the students’ work at the convention in the spring.
