Council considered several procedural items during the meeting. The mayor presented a recommendation to appoint Bill Davis to the Planning & Zoning Board to replace Tommy Edwards for a term through August 2026; a council motion to accept the mayor’s appointment was seconded and approved.
On retiree health insurance (Ordinance 2025-06), staff described proposed changes removing a cap and using a percentage-based formula; council members asked for complete cost estimates and preferred to address the change during budget work sessions. A motion to table the ordinance was made, seconded and approved.
Council also approved Resolution 2025-37 to surplus an old senior-transport van. The agenda and the minutes for June 16 were approved earlier in the meeting.
Ending: These procedural actions were approved or tabled as noted; staff will return with additional budget information on the retiree-insurance amendment.
