Council and staff reviewed a number of administrative, infrastructure and community items. The Georgia Tax Collection System (GATCS) contract includes a $500-per-year printing cost for the 2025–2026 property-tax digest. Council discussed a request to increase City Court judge pay from $450.00 to $550.00. An RPI invoice totaling $46,083.75 for an emergency water-main repair was raised for ratification; staff reported they are waiting for an updated invoice that itemizes labor, supplies and materials before the council acts.
Staff noted that Scruggs has not yet supplied requested LMIG estimates for an aerator replacement. The council discussed establishing a $100 land-use compliance permit fee and adding a $100 demolition permit fee. Well House #4 (Highway 319) roof repair was listed for discussion but no contractor or cost was specified in the workshop record.
City staff announced Spring Cardboard Recycling will begin April 13, 2026, and Spring Clean Week will begin April 20, 2026. The council also reviewed the Capital City Cyclists Tour of Thomasville scheduled for June 20, 2026.
Other items: discussion of the SWGRC housing plan was tabled pending further information; council discussed obtaining quotes for mass-communication alerts for citizens; and the council was asked to submit administrative work-order requests through the city manager’s office to streamline staff processing. The workshop record shows no formal votes on these items. The workshop adjourned with attendance recorded including Mayor Elizabeth Leger; council members Todd Braswell, Melissa Johnson (via phone), Tonia Gentry and W.C. Smith; City Manager Lonnie Adamson; City Clerk Alisha Bass; and Monica Harper.
