John Reilly of the St. Paul’s Landmark Society told the Board on June 10 that the society will commemorate the 147th anniversary of the cornerstone laying at St. Paul’s School on June 18 and will present a $125,000 inaugural gift to the Village of Garden City.
Later on the consent calendar, the Board approved acceptance of an estimated $50,000 in donated work from Old World Quality Corp. for various work at St. Paul’s Main Building. Trustee Michele Beach Harrington moved the authorization and the motion carried (AYES: 7, NOES: 0); Trustee Vinny Muldoon was recorded as recused from that vote. The minutes state the Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement was reviewed by Village Counsel and approved as to form.
The board’s acceptance triggers the Gifts and Donations Policy requirement that donations exceeding $2,000 receive Board approval. Village counsel’s review of the indemnification agreement was noted in the minutes; details on the scope and schedule of the donated work were not specified in the minutes.
