Tower provides updates on water treatment, sewer extension, trailhead and flood recovery

During the Sept. 9 meeting the Tower City Council received a series of informational updates on capital projects and recovery efforts.
Clerk/Treasurer Michael Schultz reported construction on the Water Treatment Facility is progressing and that pay applications and change orders will be presented for council action at a future meeting. Mayor David Setterberg and the clerk updated the council on the sanitary sewer extension reporting logging completion, soil borings and ongoing work to secure funding.
Schultz also provided a timeline update for the Green Flush restroom and confirmed completion of the ADA-accessible kayak launch at the trailhead. On community recovery, Schultz said the City continues to work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency regarding the June flooding event. No formal actions were taken on these informational items at the Sept. 9 meeting.
