Public commenter urges clarity on enforcement as Tower reviews short-term rentals

A member of the public told the Tower City Council at its Oct. 14 meeting she supports allowing short-term rentals but is concerned about how a potential new ordinance would be enforced.
Rachel Lockett spoke during the public-input portion in favor of short-term rentals and emphasized enforcement as an outstanding issue. Clerk/Treasurer Michael Schultz told the council that the Planning & Zoning Commission previously held a public hearing on Sept. 24, received numerous written and verbal comments, and will convene a special meeting to review the submissions and make edits to the draft ordinance.
No council action was taken; the council recorded the update as informational and the P&Z special meeting is the next procedural step for ordinance revision and potential future council consideration.
