School committee appoints interim secretary, approves surplus disposal and declines school‑choice participation; chair outlines new minutes guidelines

Surplus property: The administration presented a list of surplus equipment for disposal and auction. Members were reminded that some grant‑funded items (for example upgraded welders purchased with state grant funds) would require the district to reimburse the state with a share of auction proceeds (the administration cited a 50 percent reimbursement requirement for certain items). The committee authorized the disposition and auctioning of those surplus items.

Executive session: The committee then voted to enter executive session to approve draft executive session minutes of Aug. 17, 2023, and did not return to open session.
