Chicopee Human Resources Committee approves two mayoral appointees to city boards

The City Council Human Resources Committee on Jan. 14, 2025, unanimously approved two mayoral appointments and adopted previous minutes during a 6:00 p.m. meeting in the City Hall auditorium.
Denise Londraville was nominated to serve on the License Commission for a term expiring June 1, 2025. Londraville told the committee she would like to "give back to the community," noting she has worked as a bartender for 42 years and is a realtor in Chicopee. Councilor Mary Beth Pniak-Costello moved to approve the appointment, Councilor Gary Labrie seconded, and a roll-call vote recorded all five committee members as voting yes.
The committee then considered the appointment of Timothy Foley to the Golf Commission for a term expiring Nov. 1, 2028. Foley said he has lived in Chicopee for 53 years and worked 29 years, and told members he would like to serve on the commission and "continue the success of the golf course." Councilor Susan Goff moved to approve the nomination, Councilor Labrie seconded, and the committee again voted 5-0 in favor.
Earlier in the meeting the committee voted to approve the minutes of its Dec. 5, 2024, meeting. The meeting opened with a standard confirmation of compliance with the Open Meeting Law; there were no public comments on either appointment. The committee adjourned at 6:11 p.m.
