The Dartmouth School Committee on Nov. 4 approved Superintendent Dr. Saba-Maguire's first-year evaluation, with the motion passing 5-0.
Committee member John Nunes read summary comments from colleagues that described Dr. Saba-Maguire as "dedicated to building 'buy-in' from all stakeholders," effective at articulating goals and synthesizing data, and operating from a foundation of ethics. Nunes said committee responses ranged from "proficient" to "exemplary" in certain areas and that, after averaging scores from all members, the superintendent met performance expectations. "DESE defines 'proficient' practice to be fully satisfactory; the expected rigorous level of performance," Nunes read.
Mr. Nunes moved and Ms. Beckwith seconded approval of the evaluation as written; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. Dr. Saba-Maguire thanked the Committee for their comments and support and said she looks forward to continuing work with Central Office administrators, union leadership, educators, families, staff and Town officials to implement the district strategic plan.
