Berkley Board of Health approves septic plans, grants two variances and issues well permit

At its June 10 meeting the Berkley Board of Health approved septic plans for 44 Plain Street E and 659 Berkley Street, granted two variances for 55 Bryant Street, issued a well permit for 1 Demi Way, and tabled several items to June 24, 2025.
The Berkley Board of Health met Tuesday evening and approved several septic‑system actions, granted variances for a property on Bryant Street and issued a well permit.
The board approved, stamped and signed a Certificate of Compliance for 44 Plain Street E after reviewing the As‑Built and the required sieve test. It also reviewed consultant Nyles Zager’s comments and approved and stamped septic plans for 659 Berkley Street; the stamped plans and permit were given to Gerald Bernard.
The board re‑reviewed plans for 138 Bay View Ave with consultant Nyles Zager and determined that not all consultant comments had been addressed by the engineer; the board tabled that application to the next meeting for further revision.
On 55 Bryant Street, consultant Gerald Bernard presented plans and the board considered two variance requests. Board member Daniel Fournier moved to permit (1) the use of a sieve analysis in lieu of a perc test and (2) a reduction of the 12‑foot separation requirement between tank inlet/outlet tees and high groundwater. Patrick McCrohan seconded the motion, which the board adopted on an "all in favor" vote.
The board tabled agenda items for Brandon Arruda/Bridgewater Raynham Sand & Stone (pending the Installer’s Test), 32 Riverside Drive and 131 Padelford Street to the June 24 meeting.
Zachary Rose appeared before the board seeking a well permit for 1 Demi Way. After reviewing payment (Check #17170, $275.00) the board issued Well Permit #6102025; the pink copy was provided to Mr. Rose.
The board accepted minutes and correspondence, signed invoices and permits, and adjourned at 7:43 P.M. The next meeting is scheduled for June 24, 2025 at 7:00 P.M.
