School committee moves to executive session to discuss pending litigation

At the end of the public agenda the chair moved and the committee voted to enter executive session and not return to open session so the body could discuss litigation strategy in George Clement v. Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School. The motion cited the exemption allowing closed deliberations when an open meeting could harm the public body’s litigating position. The motion included the school committee, the superintendent and the identified administrative staff member (Julia). The committee approved the motion by roll call and proceeded to a separate meeting link for the executive session; the public session did not reconvene that night.
