The school committee voted to accept Superintendent Driscolls three proposed goals for the year and approved a contract appointing Dr. Amy Perau as assistant superintendent of student services.
Driscoll summarized her entry plan and the three goals that will form the basis of her year-end evaluation: an effective entry and directional plan, maintaining momentum during the transition, and implementing a superintendent induction program. "My overarching goal was to renew a sense of community founded in trust, professionalism and transparent communication," Driscoll said while presenting the goals. Committee members who had previously reviewed the goals moved and seconded the adoption; the board approved the goals by roll call.
Later, after an executive-session negotiation on non-union personnel, the committee returned to open session and moved to approve a contract for Dr. Amy Perau as assistant superintendent of student services effective Nov. 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027. The vote to approve the contract was unanimous. Committee members thanked Dr. Perau for accepting the role.
The committee recorded that the superintendent proposes goals and the committee votes to accept them; these accepted goals will inform the superintendents evaluation this year.
Next steps: Driscoll will proceed with entry-plan actions and the administration will onboard Dr. Perau under the approved contract.
