School leaders used the meeting to spotlight career and technical education programs and efforts to prepare students for college and work.
Sarah Ard, lead for the life sciences pathway, described partnerships and hands‑on experiences across biotechnology, environmental science, horticulture and the new veterinary science program. She cited collaborations with a regenerative manufacturing institute and an Army‑funded workshop that brings pre‑prepared tissue models for student lab work, environmental projects that contribute field data to a Harvard forestry museum database, rooftop gardening for on‑site food service, and a horticulture partnership that produces over 20,000 pounds of donated produce annually. Ard also noted students earn certifications and take part in industry conferences.
Greg Donovan (English department) explained a departmental goal that all juniors will have resumés by the December break to support the college fair and co‑op placement. Donovan described a John Collins writing reboot to ensure academic and vocational areas share a common writing language and to improve students' transferable communication skills. Committee members praised the presentations and urged staff to make clips or materials available to prospective families.
Students reported recent activities: senior night recognition for fall sports and a homecoming fundraiser that raised $4,400 to support Student Activity programs. Committee members supported using short clips of presentations for recruitment and communications.
