Corydon council approves $9,219.11 easement for North Loop water main and hires Hall Engineering

Nancy Buss, representing Hall Engineering (joined via Teams), reviewed an easement agreement allowing the city to bore a water main across the property at 908 N Washington. Buss said the property owners requested $9,219.11 to cover the easement and legal fees and that "the cost of the easement is much less than having to bore the water main under the railroad." Councilor Dawn Christian moved to approve the easement payment; Councilor Bryan Wolfe seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The council also approved an agreement with Hall Engineering to prepare a preliminary plat and a schedule of assessments for the South Street reconstruction project. The agreement was presented as part of the project planning process and approved by unanimous motion.
On related operations, the council approved a revision to the city's Operator Affidavit contract: with Jared Chambers obtaining a wastewater 2 certificate, the city no longer needed Jack Pershy as Operator Affidavit for sewer but will retain Pershy as Operator Affidavit for water until a crew member secures a water 2 certificate. The revised contract provides for Pershy at $1,000 per month; the motion passed unanimously.
All motions recorded at the meeting carried with Ayes from Councilors Dawn Christian, Chase Clark, Kyle Hampton, Kenny Holmes and Bryan Wolfe and no Nays.
