Corning, Villisca boards meet in special session and enter closed session to evaluate staff matter

The Boards of Education of the Corning Community School District and the Villisca Community School District met in a special joint session on March 17, 2025, at the Southwest Valley High School Board Room. President Staci Venteicher called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

The boards approved the meeting agenda after a motion by Stephanie Hodapp, seconded by Trent Roberts; the motion carried unanimously. Howard Anderson moved, and Stephanie Hodapp seconded, that the boards hold a closed session “as provided in Section 21.5(1) (i) of the open meetings law to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation, as that individual has requested a closed session.”

By roll call, the Corning board recorded votes in favor: Howard Anderson, Adam Boswell, Stephanie Hodapp, Trent Roberts and Staci Venteicher; no board member voted against the motion.
