Bolton board approves five‑year strategic plan developed with students, parents and town officials

Superintendent Caruso presented a five‑year strategic plan she said was developed in six to seven work sessions with students, parents, staff, administrators and the first selectman. She described the plan as a roadmap to align school and classroom plans and said teacher leaders would work this summer to convert strategy into school‑level plans.
Caruso told the board the plan reflects what the district “loves about Bolton” and seeks to align daily work to common goals so “all our oars are rowing in the same direction.” She said final graphics and presentation materials were still being completed but that the content shown to the board in executive session matched the report being considered.
A motion to approve the new five‑year strategic plan was moved and seconded. The chair called for the vote; members indicated their approval and the plan passed.
Board members praised the diversity of perspectives on the planning committee. The superintendent said she was excited to roll the plan out at staff convocation and to have teacher leaders develop school plans over the summer. That rollout timing and the instructional work to follow are the next procedural steps noted in the meeting.
