Board approves major site plan for Alliant Energy generator at Sullivan Slooh Road

The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2026‑24 on April 7, 2026, granting a major site plan and zoning permit to Interstate Power & Light Company (Alliant Energy) for a proposed reciprocating internal combustion engine to serve as a supplemental/peak generator at the Sullivan Slooh Road facility.

Planning staff said the site is zoned industrial within the two‑mile zone and requires a site plan review.
