Jackson County to seek local advice on site for America250 Princeton Elm; parks director requests sale of surplus truck

Chairman Bill Nance told the Jackson County Commission that, as part of Semiquincentennial celebrations, America250 has awarded each county a commemorative Princeton Elm to be planted locally. The commission agreed to seek recommendations on a suitable site from local groups including the Scottsboro Tree Commission and Matt Webb of the Jackson County Extension Office.
Parks Director Doug Parrish said the Parks Department has a 1997 Ford F-150 that was replaced by the Revenue Commission and requested permission to sell the vehicle. The transcript records Parrish’s request but does not record a formal motion or vote concerning the truck’s sale.
