The Webster County Board of Supervisors on July 30 advanced a text amendment to the county platting ordinance and approved a related subdivision and a resolution supporting proposed private development terms.
During a public hearing on ORDINANCE NO. 2024‑04 (a text amendment to Title VI Chapter 3 of the Webster County Code of Ordinances concerning platting), the board recorded no written comments. Two members of the public, identified in the record as Gordan Cassen and Lance Rossow, spoke during the hearing asking for clarification about the proposed amendment. Following the hearing, the board, moved by Supervisor Campbell and seconded by Supervisor Hayek, adopted first consideration of the ordinance, waived the second reading and scheduled the third and final reading for 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2024.
On land‑use matters the board approved the DBJG Properties Subdivision, First Addition, a final plat creating 14 single‑family residential lots on roughly 8.35 acres located about one‑quarter mile northwest of Old Highway 169 and 230th Street. The motion to approve the final plat carried unanimously. The board also adopted RESOLUTION NO. 2024‑30 indicating support for proposed terms to be included in a private development agreement between Webster County and DBJG, LLC.
Why this matters If adopted on final reading, the ordinance amendment would restore — or clarify — the role of the “Plat of Survey” option in the county’s platting code; public commenters asked for clarification of the amendment’s effect. The DBJG final plat and accompanying resolution move a specific private subdivision project forward in county approvals.
What’s next The board set the final reading for the ordinance for 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2024. Any final adoption of the ordinance or subsequent development agreements will be reflected in future meeting records and county land‑use filings.
