Council approves alley closure for Lily's Sports Bar grand opening

The Corydon City Council voted unanimously Aug. 27 to allow Lily's Sports Bar to close the alley adjacent to the business for its planned grand-opening celebration on Sept. 6, 2025.
Mayor Pro-tem Dawn Christian presided over the meeting. Tierra Shields, representing Lily's Sports Bar, asked the council to close the alley between the bar and Franklin Street to accommodate outdoor entertainment and event activities. Councilor Kenny Holmes moved to approve the closure; Councilor Bryan Wolfe seconded. The motion carried with votes from Councilors Christian, Chase Clark, Kyle Hampton, Kenny Holmes and Bryan Wolfe.
The approval allows the business to proceed with its planned outdoor entertainment on the specified date. The council did not record additional permit conditions in the minutes. The next regular meeting is Sept. 10, 2025, if further event conditions or permits are needed.
