The Pocahontas Area Community School District board on June 1 accepted multiple personnel resignations with appreciation for years of service.
Letters in the meeting packet and public remarks recorded at the meeting included resignations from Jud Nielsen (tabletop games sponsor), Maggie Moon Simpson (leaving district and resigning her position), Kim Hutchinson (PAR educator, employed with the district since 1990 and a PAR educator since 1988), Amy Van Holland (middle/high school secretary), and two middle-school baseball coaches (Mike Aan and Brett Townson, who will leave at the end of the next school year). The board moved to accept the resignations with thanks, a motion that carried by voice vote.
Board members singled out Kim Hutchinson for decades of service and thanked all departing staff for their contributions. Administration indicated candidate search and hiring processes will begin as needed to fill roles and maintain programs.
The board’s motion recognized the staff contributions and directed administration to proceed with recruiting and transition planning where appropriate.
