The presentation covered line items including project management, design and engineering oversight, construction management and final commissioning.
Board members discussed contingency language, page numbering and the fee chart; legal review by the district’s counsel was identified as a condition of approval. The motion to approve the Denovo contract with the attorney’s recommended wording was made by Sarah and seconded by Dina; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board instructed administration and Denovo to continue negotiations focused on cost containment and to return with schedule and budget updates. Denovo said it would work with district staff to seek further cost savings during design and bidding.
Because the board approved the contract contingent on attorney wording and Denovo’s agreement, the contract will be finalized after those conditions are satisfied and then managed through regular project updates to the board.
