Committee refers ongoing Dorothy Avenue property maintenance concerns for monitoring

Councilor Mary Beth Pniak-Costello brought a long-running neighborhood concern on Jan. 30 to the Public Works Committee regarding maintenance and trash at properties on Dorothy Avenue, identifying constituent William Guyette as having raised the issue.
Building Commissioner Frank Boron and Health Director Lisa Sanders said the city has monitored properties at 14, 22 and 27 Dorothy Avenue and will continue to do so; Boron said exterior conditions and vehicle parking on lawns have been recurring complaints and that staff will take a closer look. "We monitor that area all the time. I'm going to take a ride by to see what's going on," Boron said.
Pniak-Costello said discussion was placed on the record so residents know the city is aware and monitoring. The committee voted to close public input and to place the referral on file for record and continued oversight; no enforcement action or timetable was set during the meeting.
