Chicopee Human Resources Committee approves two mayoral appointments

The City Council Human Resources Committee in Chicopee unanimously approved two mayoral appointments during a brief meeting on Jan. 14, 2025.

Denise Londraville was approved to serve on the License Commission for a term expiring June 1, 2025. Londraville told the committee she would like to “give back to the community,” noting she worked as a bartender for 42 years and that she is a realtor in the city. The motion to approve was made by Councilor Mary Beth Pniak-Costello and seconded by Councilor Gary Labrie; a roll call vote recorded Gary Labrie, Jerry Roy, Abigail Arriaga (zoom), Susan Goff and Mary Beth Pniak-Costello as voting yes.

The committee also approved Timothy Foley’s appointment to the Golf Commission for a term expiring Nov. 1, 2028. Foley said he has lived in Chicopee for 53 years and has worked for 29 years, and that he would like to serve on the commission to “continue the success of the golf course.” Councilor Susan Goff moved approval; Councilor Labrie seconded and the vote was unanimous.

In addition to the appointments, the committee approved the minutes of its Dec. 5, 2024 meeting on a unanimous roll call and then adjourned at 6:11 p.m. Motions during the meeting— including closing public input on the two appointment items—were recorded as having passed by unanimous roll call.

No public comment was offered on either appointment. Associate City Solicitor Timothy Reilly was noted as present; the minutes do not record additional discussion or conditions attached to the approvals. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and lasted approximately 11 minutes.
