Chair Scott Triola opened the July 22 meeting with a statement addressing reports of antisemitism at Concord Carlisle High School and in the Concord community, saying Carlisle must remain vigilant and encouraging reporting of incidents to town authorities or via the online complaint form. Triola said: "antisemitism and all forms of discrimination have no place in Carlisle."
Triola reported he had attended a joint meeting earlier in the evening with the Concord School Committee, the Regional School Committee, and the Concord Select Board where antisemitism in the high school community was discussed, and he cited statements from the Concord School Committee, Superintendent Lori Hunter and State Representative Simon Cataldo (co‑chair of the state commission to combat antisemitism).
Resident Marc Bernstein offered public comment expressing concern that the Concord administration might not take sufficient action and suggested Carlisle review its own public‑school practices. Member David Model, a former School Committee member, said Carlisle’s smaller system allows administrators to address incidents immediately and noted the Carlisle administration has been proactive in education and outreach.
No board action was taken; Triola encouraged residents and staff to report discrimination or harassment to town authorities.
