The Carlisle Select Board voted July 22 to proceed with the town’s 2025 road maintenance plan, approving proposed projects that total about $660,000 and noting roughly $939,000 in funds anticipated or on reserve.
Town Administrator Ryan McLane outlined available funds: current reserve of $409,000, a Fair Share Act appropriation of $70,000–$100,000 (pending), and an anticipated governor’s bond of $430,000, for a combined total of approximately $939,000. Proposed expenses included a base bid for Pheasant Hill and the Carlisle Public School parking lot ($154,000), Berry Corner Road and Lane ($234,000), Acton Street ($137,000), and design work for Complete Streets and Shared Streets ($135,000), totaling about $660,000.
McLane recommended proceeding with all projects and said remaining funds would carry forward into next year’s projects. Member David Model questioned why Acton Street was being included given the town’s usual prioritization and the approximately $800,000 annual maintenance target; McLane responded that half of the allocation had been spent on previously approved projects and this proposal represented the second half of the year’s budget. The board approved the plan on a 4‑0 roll call vote.
