Interim chief of operations Alan Knox told the board the district has made notable progress on its capital and maintenance projects.
Knox showed before-and-after photos for Lake Murray Elementary and Chapen Elementary, outlined phasing for Irma High School's expansion and student-center work, and said a ribbon-cutting for Irma High School's new east wing was scheduled for 9:30 AM the following day. He reported that portables for Nursery Road had been delivered and were being set up, and that HVAC classroom units at Valentine Elementary were fully replaced except for one principal's office unit.
Knox also summarized plans for the new professional development building and site-access issues (easement and water-line considerations), said early-site work may proceed ahead of final GMPs for some projects, and described options for multi-use of the new district office boardroom and professional development spaces.
Board members asked about final design approvals, alternative uses for the district boardroom space, and timing for the Hero High School cafeteria completion; staff gave October as a target date for cafeteria work and said full GMPs would be presented when available.
