Richmond County Board selects Corey Satterfield as chair; Scottie Baldwin named vice chair

At its year‑end closeout meeting the Richmond County Board of Education elected Corey Satterfield as chair and Scottie Baldwin as vice chair. The board also approved changes to the 2026–27 calendar and welcomed newly sworn member Bobby Sue Ormsby.
Corey Satterfield was elected chair of the Richmond County Board of Education during the board’s year‑end closeout meeting. After nominations were called, the board voted in nomination order and Satterfield was declared elected; members congratulated him and thanked outgoing and continuing colleagues.
The board then nominated and selected a vice chair. Scottie Baldwin and Bobby Sue were put forward; the board raised hands and the chair announced a count of four in favor for Baldwin, who accepted the office and thanked members for their confidence.
The leadership elections were followed by brief administrative business: the board approved a small calendar change for the 2026–27 school year to set Ashley Chapel’s graduation for June 3, 2027, and Richmond Senior High School’s graduation for June 4, 2027, and welcomed a newly sworn‑in member, Bobby Sue Ormsby.
The changes to board leadership take effect immediately and board members said they look forward to continuing district work through the coming fiscal year.
