The Regional School District 08 board authorized the superintendent to finalize a contract with Wise Construction Inc. for ADA-compliance work at the RAM Middle School baseball field.
Facilities staff reported four bids for the project, with the most complete and lowest responsive bid totaling $237,800. A district representative said the project budget with contingency was $250,000 and that this bid came in under that figure.
Michael Schlehofer, who presented the bidding summary to the board, said the other bids ranged higher and that the selected bid included the required paperwork. "Out of the bids, the second (qualified) bid came in at $237,800. They have all the necessary paperwork," he said.
Board members moved to authorize the superintendent to execute the contract with Wise Construction, and the motion passed on the board vote. No detailed roll-call tally of individual named votes was included in the public record of the meeting; the motion was announced as approved.
Next steps: The superintendent will finalize the contract terms and sign with Wise Construction Inc. Work was presented as consistent with prior planning and within the district’s capital budget for this project.
