The Calera City Council approved several consent and roll-call items during its meeting.
By unanimous consent the council adopted Resolution 2025-41, authorizing updated police department policies and the corresponding manual. Council members also approved a capital purchase request to buy three police vehicles and associated equipment; staff said funds are available and several vehicles are in stock for immediate delivery.
A new ABC license application for a retail location at 8130 U.S. Highway 31 (across from Subway) was approved by voice vote. The council also adopted Ordinance 2025-09, declaring a severe-weather preparedness sales-tax holiday (dates listed in the meeting packet for early 2026).
No controversial roll-call votes were recorded on these items; council indicated these were routine approvals following staff presentations.
