City staff reported at the work session that the city has sent an executed drainage agreement to the railroad (CSX) and that the railroad had indicated it would wait on that item before advancing other easements connected to a downtown Main Street project. Staff said it had not yet received a rent proposal or a CSX draft of the easement documents and will follow up with the railroad attorney.
A staff member said the executed drainage agreement was submitted a couple of weeks earlier and the city was waiting for a draft from CSX. The staff member and city attorney indicated they will follow up and provide an update at the next council meeting. No formal agreement or rent proposal was presented during the work session.
Council directed staff to continue follow-up with the railroad and to bring any drafts or proposals to a future meeting for consideration.
